Sarosh J Ghandy
Chairperson
Sarosh Ghandy is a graduate (1958) in Metallurgical Engineering from the Carnegie Institute of Technology, Pittsburgh, USA. He joined the Tata Engineering and Locomotive Co. Ltd. (now Tata Motors Ltd.) as an Asst. Metallurgist and over 14 years became the General Manager of the Jamshedpur Works of Telco. He was on the Telco Board as Executive Director from 1973 to 1999. He resigned from the Telco Board to take over as the Managing Director of TELCON, a Telco subsidiary, till his retirement in 2002. Mr. Ghandy has dedicated his life to supporting social and educational services at the highest level and was the Chairperson of eight related organizations. Additionally he is on the board of ten business organizations.
Late Elaine Marie Ghosh
Founder
Elaine began her career in 1974 as a financial analyst with Citibank N.A. and served as a banker for 10 years. In 2004/05 she was a consultant for all administrative functions and Facility Manager for the start-up India operations of Macromedia Research and Development. She also operated a Premises Consultancy and among other projects, set up the head office of Ujjivan Financial Services Pvt. Ltd, a microfinance company providing financial services to urban poor women. In 2007, she launched Parinaam Foundation as a non-profit Section 25 company to provide social services to urban poor communities. She was a strong environmentalist with a special interest in water and tree conservation. Elaine passed away on November 28th, 2013 but leaves Parinaam behind as her legacy.
Mallika Ghosh
CEO and Executive Director
Mallika Ghosh began her career in advertising. In her last job before Parinaam, she was Head of Films, South India for McCann Erickson. In 2009, the desire to do something meaningful with her life, brought her to the social sector and Parinaam. Alongside Elaine Ghosh, she developed the Financial Literacy Program (Diksha) and the Academic Adoption Program. The passing of her mother in 2013 pushed her to take over the management of Parinaam and continue the work they had developed together for the Ultra Poor. Ever since, she has been personally involved in evolving Parinaam’s programs to meet the needs of the day and in creating the strategic vision under which the Foundation operates today. She is personally involved in all Parinaam activities and provides the day-to-day support the Foundation needs.
Samit Ghosh
Director
Mr.Ghosh is the Non-Executive Director and Chairman of Ujjivan Financial Services Ltd. and is board member of Ujjivan Small Finance Bank. Prior to founding Ujjivan, Mr.Ghosh was a career banker with over 30 years’ experience in India and overseas with a specialization in retail banking. He was part of the management team which launched retail banking in India with Citibank in 1985, Standard Chartered Bank in 1993 and HDFC Bank in 1996. Mr.Ghosh holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
Lt. Gen. Arjun Ray
PVSM, VSM (Retd), Director
General Ray served in the Indian Army for 38 years and his career spanned two wars, two insurgencies and a socio-political campaign to win over alienated communities in Ladakh. As a Core Commander, he redefined the role of the Armed Forces from winning wars to preventing wars. He has authored Kashmir Diary: The Psychology of Militancy, considered a purple primer on terrorist psychology. His second book, Peace is Everybody's Business was published in 2012. For distinguished service and contribution to nation-building he was awarded the Param Vishist Seva Medal and was India's nomination for the Commonwealth Award in 2002 for women's empowerment. He is presently the CEO & MD of the Indus Group of International Schools in Bangalore, Pune and Hyderabad.
Maneesha Chadha
Director
Maneesha Chadha is part of J.P. Morgan's Global Philanthropy team and leads its grant programming across the Asia Pacific region. Prior to this she was at Citi, where she was responsible for the company's social responsibility activities and the Citi Foundation grant management in the country. She has also held similar positions with RBS Foundation India and ABN AMRO Foundation India. Maneesha started her career 20 years ago in the financial inclusion space and has been a microfinance relationship banker, credit rater and trainer at international organizations.
Ravi Bahl
Director
Mr. Ravindra Bahl was Partner at Chrys Capital in charge of all financial sector investments for more than 15years and has been very closely involved at board and operating level with portfolio companies, across banks and NBFCs. He was the founder CEO of HCL Delux a JV between HCL Technologies and Delux Corp USA. Prior to that he was with Citibank for 17 years. He received MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata and BA in English Literature form Kolkata University. Mr. Ravindra Bahl is an Independent Director on the Board of DBIL.
Mona Kachhwaha
Director
Mona Kachhwaha graduated in Mathematics (Hons.) from Delhi University and completed her MBA from XLRI, Jamshedpur. Later, she completed an executive program in Private Equity from Said Business School, Oxford University. Mona’s career began with Citibank in the consumer banking division, where she worked across various businesses and led the bank’s foray into Inclusive Finance in 2005. At Caspian Impact Investment Adviser she managed the India Financial Inclusion Fund, a growth equity fund focused on inclusive finance. Currently (2020 onwards), she is a Partner at UC Impower, an early-stage equity fund promoted by Unitus Capital Pvt Ltd, focused on financial inclusion and climate solutions. Mona has been associated with Parinaam for many years, as donor and well-wisher. Her considerable experience across banking and impact investing is of great help to the team at Parinaam.
